PRIME Profile - Ron Rhodes

Ron RhodesMBChB, DRCOG, DCH, MRCGP, F.P. Cert.

Ron is a retired GP. He has previously been part of the PRIME Management Team and Chair of the Tutor Support Group.

After graduation from Manchester Medical School he became a General Practitioner/Family Doctor. In the course of his career he became a senior GP and led a multi-disciplinary primary care health team for 17 years. His work focussed on providing patient-centred holistic care, seeking to identify and address the patient's needs not just managing their disease. Ron was involved in training medical students and junior doctors for more than ten years.

Ron joined PRIME as a Tutor in 2012 and has taught for PRIME in Ghana, Nigeria, Sierra Leone and the UK. He continues to be one of our team leaders for activities in Nigeria and support colleagues in Sierra Leone as they rebuild their health systems and training since the Ebola epidemic.
