Professor Kate Gerrish has over 30 years of experience in nurse education. This has included teaching pre- and post-registration programmes for nurses and allied health professionals at undergraduate, master’s and taught doctoral level. She has also gained extensive experience in curriculum development and validation, programme administration and evaluation, programme leadership and quality assurance. Kate’s specialist areas of teaching expertise include nursing development, whole person centred care, evidence-based practice/knowledge translation, education theory and research methods using broad range of participatory teaching and learning methods.


Kate is an active PRIME Tutor working on programmes in Armenia, Nigeria and the Middle East and represents Nursing and Allied Health Professions. She is passionate about seeing more Nurse Tutors engaging with PRIME and changing Nursing education across the world. She has previously been part of our Management Team and Vice Chair of the PRIME Trustee Board. She took over as Chair of Trustees from 2nd September and is Chair of the  Evaluation and Research Group.
